This photograph was taken during a trip to discover the island of Tenerife in the Canary archipelago. This volcanic island is home to the Teide volcano, within the Teide National Park of the same name.

In addition to giving an extremely unique aspect to the island itself, this volcano also represents the highest mountain in Spain, in fact it exceeds 3500 m above sea level.

This island is well known for the fantastic dark skies it is able to offer, it is no coincidence that it is home to some important European telescopes. Exploring this island was truly a unique adventure for me, getting lost in the Teide caldera, in this completely alien landscape, gave me the opportunity to find truly particular and unique compositions. As can be seen in this image, a rock obelisk rises from the volcanic soil as if it were a claw of lava reaching out towards the night and the myriad of stars that can be seen from here.

In the vertical version of this shot you can see a foreground characterized by green bushes and dry branches heading towards the subject, this particular rock formation, in the background you can see the majestic Milky Way and some of its nebulae (such as the North America nebula ) immersed in a magnificent green Air glow
