This image was a project that gave me a lot of headaches. I've rarely tried to edit an image more than once, and I've never created so many different versions of an image as I did here. When you are trying to reach or push the boundaries of astrophotography you have to take it all in. In my case it took over 1 year to put this final version together. The whole image is a panorama taken with a 135mm lens. The sky alone has 104 separate parts and together with the foreground the image was taken over 3 different nights. I am confident enough to say that this is one of the most challenging astro images in combination with landscape that has ever been taken.

Jakob Sahner is a 21 year old German astrophotographer who came into contact with the fascination of space early in his childhood. Very early he began to make projects with image and video editing programs and after graduating from high school he completed an apprenticeship as a photo and media technical assistant. The subject has grabbed him like an addiction although he had no knowledge about this hobby. He just wanted to do it and try it out! In the now more than 4 years he has become a worldwide known astrophotographer and has developed his skills from normal landscape astrophotography to deepsky photography.
