The Bubble Nebula was discovered in 1787 by William Herschel, a prominent British astronomer. It is being formed by an extremely bright, massive, and short-lived star that has lost most of its outer hydrogen and is now fusing helium into heavier elements. The star is about 4 million years old, and in 10 million to 20 million years, it will likely detonate as a supernova. The Bubble Nebula is 7 light-years across – about one-and-a-half times the distance from our sun to its nearest stellar neighbor, Alpha Centauri – and it is 7,100 light-years from Earth in the constellation Cassiopeia.
The seething star forming this nebula is 45 times more massive than our sun. Gas on the star gets so hot that it escapes away into space as a stellar wind moving at over 4 million miles per hour. This outflow sweeps up the cold, interstellar gas in front of it, forming the outer edge of the bubble much like a snowplow piles up snow in front of it as it moves forward.
The Image was reprocessed from the raw (Fits data) by the astrophotographer and founder of Cosmonity® Michał Ostaszewski. The Image was created from recombining 3 narrowband(black&white) images responsible for the emission of very common elements in space - oxygen III and its emission line 502nm as the blue channel, 656nm emission line of the hydrogen-alpha as the green channel and 658nm - nitrogen II as the red channel. This technic allows to get a colorful and saturated image and gives the scientists knowledge about how atoms are located in space.

Others prints from Hubble Telescope Collection

The beginning of the story
In 1990 Nasa sent to Earth's orbit extraordinary machine which changed our view of the universe, inspired millions of people and unbelievably develop our discoveries. This machine was the Hubble Space Telescope, named after prominent astronomer of the first part of the XX century - Edwin Hubble.
After overcoming the initial problems with the design error of the main mirror Hubble Space Telescope shows us the cosmos in a way that shocked everyone.
5 servicing missions and 32 years later Hubble is still operating and reveals to us the great mysteries of the universe.

True beauty of cosmos
Images taken by Hubble are just overwhelming. They merge science and art created by the best artist which is nature driven by the laws of physics. But to be able to capture them, first we had to understand the mechanics of imaging the cosmos.
The collection of prints available on Cosmonity consists the reprocessed from the absolute scratch and iconic non touched images, to allow you to hang them on your wall and experience the scientific beauty everyday.

Collection driven by passion
I was amazed by the Hubble Images and space exploration already as a small child. I was not thinking then about what I will do in the future (except to be a fighter pilot 😉) but I just ask a lot of what is there..
This curiosity drives me to this day. I learned enough to be able to download raw data(fits data) from this space observatory and reprocess images from zero. This process not only allowed me to understand these images from every single pixel but also gives me the credibility to ensure you about the top quality of the prints which are available on Cosmonity.
This collection and other products are prepared with the best care about the details, but if you have any questions, always feel free to ask anything!
Michał Ostaszewski,
founder of Cosmonity
How I was able to reprocess images? What does it even mean?
For that question, I could write a book. But in short: Each astrophotograph is a light captured by the camera and has the form of FITS data(that's how in astronomy RAW is called) from FITS I can build an image in some sophisticated software. Is it simple? Definitely not, I started my interest in astrophotography when I was a kid, but the way which I had to come to be in the actual place and develop skills took 20 years.
Which images are reprocessed and which does not?
I reprocessed 10 images from the collection. In the description of the each image you will find the credits. The rest of the images are public domain images processed by NASA/ESA/STScl and we just only specially prepared them for the printing with some AI detail enhancing tools.
Do we have worldwide shipping?
Yes, Earth is not very big planet at least with the XXI century transport possibilities. So you can order print to the any corner of our planet and experience scientific beauty on your wall.
Which print type is for you?
We create our prints in our own printing studio.
Combining experience in Fine Art printing with many
years spent on developing skills in astrophotography
we can offer the best possible quality. We use Canon
certified Printer with the LUCIA PRO 12-color Ink system.
Every print is produced handmade and undergoes
quality control.
