In April 2019, I had the opportunity to spend a night at the Lomnický Peak Observatory in the Slovak Tatras. It is the second highest peak of these mountains, with a beautiful panorama of the entire range of High Tatra.

While taking this picture, I knew that at the very end of the astronomical night, the Milky Way would begin to rise, which I was very anxious to capture. I left one of the cameras free so I could capture her image while keeping as much detail as possible. The photo is the result of a multi-minute exposure showing the center of the Milky Way rising above the southern horizon. Despite the high light pollution from the city of Poprad, the visibility of the night sky was fantastic thanks to the fact that I was more than 1500 m above it. This allowed me to capture the details of the dust nebulae at the center of our galaxy.
